Day in the Life | < Back
As a child, Fiona was constantly teased for two things: having
her nose in a book and living in a dream world. Things haven’t
changed much since then, but at least in writing she’s found
a use for her runaway imagination.
After school, Fiona studied for a BA Hons. in Dance and Theology
(no dancing nun jokes, please!) and then went on work as a dancer
and teacher for a few years before falling into a job in TV and
video production. Nowadays she works part-time as an administrator
for a charity and spends the rest of the time running around after
her two princess-wannabe daughters.
Fiona lives in London, England, with her husband and daughters,
but her other favourite places to be are the Highlands of Scotland
and the English countryside on a summer’s afternoon. She
loves dancing, cooking and anything cinnamon-flavoured. Of
course, she still can’t keep away from a good book, or a
good movie—especially romances—but only if she’s
stocked up with tissues, because she knows she will need them by
the end, no matter whether it’s happy or sad.
Fiona’s debut novel, “Blind-Date Marriage”,
won the Joan Hessayon New Writer’s Award 2006, beating off
competition from mainstream publishing houses. |
