Day in the Life | < Back

I'm a writer from way back.

Won my first award at the age of ten (with special tickets to the Melbourne Zoo and a whopping ten dollar check) after writing a story on the adorable squirrel monkeys who had just taken up residence there. And still have the certificate and newspaper clipping to prove it! (Yeah, I'm a hoarder too!) Of course, the check has been long spent on fave Abba record at the time.

Had dreams of being a journalist as young 'un, traveling the world and writing full time.

So what happened? I did a work experience stint as an idealistic fifteen year old at a local hospital and ended up being a physiotherapist!

Along the way, worked in an art department, a photography dark room, a hardware store and a wedding reception centre, all valuable people-watching experience while stories just kept whizzing through my head.

Ignored my muse for years while caught up in work, play and more play till I realized something. Writing wasn't something to just dream about doing one day, it was something I had to do. Right now.

These days, I adore my dream job and can't see life any other way.
